Ayurveda is the Vedic system of medical care that was developed in India more than 5000 years ago. This ancient science is specific to health, not disease specific, and takes into account the patient’s full personality: body, mind and spirit. It is based on the ancient wisdom of good living. Therefore, Kerala Ayurveda is defined as the Science of life. Use herbs and oils to heal and rejuvenate, and thus restore balance and good health.

The equitable climate of Kerala’s, the natural abundance of forests (with a lot of herbs and medicinal plants) and the cold season of the monsoon (June – November) are the most suitable for Ayurveda healing and restorative packages. In fact, today, Kerala is the only state in India that practices this medicine system with absolute dedication. Ayurveda evolved around 600 BC in India. This new medicine system focused on holistic treatment and emphasized the prevention of bodily ailments in addition to curing them.

Followed by Dravidians and Aryans alike, Ayurveda has been practiced ever since. Today, it is a unique and indispensable branch of medicine: a complete naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of the moods of your body (vata, pitta and kapha) to achieve the right balance. Ayurveda believes in the treatment not only of the affected part, but of the individual as a whole. This makes it the natural form of rejuvenation, eliminating all toxic imbalances in the body and thus regaining endurance and good health.
